I was born in Calgary, my family moved around quite a bit when I was younger, finally settling in Edmonton when I was about twelve or thirteen. One of my earliest memories was drawing and coloring, mostly superheroes, cartoons and the rock band KISS. They were a big influence on me when I was little. Whereever I was, or moving to, I always had my art. My parents always supported me that had anything to do with art or drawing, illustration or painting. Later in my early twenties I took a year of classical animation in Vancouver, a year of fine art at grant McEwen college.

Nothing ever really intrigued me enough to stick with it. I would get bored very easy. I had some minor tattoo work done by then, but never really considered it until I had met an artist by the name of Danny Gordy ( who owns and tattoos at Ink Machine). I was so impressed with the calibre of tattooing that he was doing. I really thought about getting into the business. it was hard. I did start apprenticing at a busy street shop. After finishing my three year apprenticeship, I stayed there faithfully foranother four years thinking that my boss was going to help my career, meet people, go to conventions. I was sadly disappointed (watch for the book, due out next year, titled Road Trip Mentality). Feeling discouraged and bitter, I quit and did some traveling through out the Western United States. It gave me some time to clear my head and meet other tattoo artist on my own. I made a lot of contacts and had a great time seeing the country.

After I got back to Edmonton I hooked up with Justin Kovesy and helped him open Electric Tattoo. It was great, I learned more from him than I did from anyone else. I think Justin Kovesy is by far one of the most talented tattoo artists I've ever met. I was excited and inspired again to tattoo. We had a lot of good times, good parties, and did some crazy things. Although it was great, I still wanted my own studio, so in april of 2007 I left and opened up Lucky Strike Custom Tattoo. I love it. Totally cool, layed back vibe. Now, I finally feel like my career is going in the direction I want it to, only for the better. I love coming to the studio every day and working with the guys here. They inspire me more than anyone or thing. Definately a special thanks to Scott, Miles and Bobby who helped so much with getting this dream off the ground. Thanks to my best friend Chad, who with out him, it would have taken twice as long, and last but not least, my girlfriend Celina, with out her support it never would even had happened.

I really enjoy all styles of tattooing, from black and grey to big, bold, color. Japanese, traditional old school, portraits, and especially the macbre. I enjoy doing commissioned paintings, and body painting, which turns out great, with the right models.

What's next for Lucky Strike Tattoo? Quality tattooing,Tattoo conventions, and a lot of fun. Watch for us in the coming year...
